Bombay Sapphire and Baz Luhrmann Unveil the Saw This, Made This Installation in Chelsea
Last night in the heart of Chelsea, Bombay Sapphire, acclaimed film director Baz Luhrmann, and the world's first ultra-realistic robot artist, Ai-Da, unveiled the highly anticipated Saw This, Made This Installation at the Chelsea Factory. The event marked the largest mass-participated AI art event to date, showcasing thousands of submissions shared via social media after Luhrmann's #SawThisMadeThis creative call out last year.

The pop-up AI art gallery at the Chelsea Factory doubled as a gin cocktail bar, drawing a glamorous crowd of cultural tastemakers, celebrities, and industry innovators, such as Sophie Collé, Nneka Julia, Roze Traore, and Fabritzio Villalpando. Guests enjoyed artfully crafted Bombay Sapphire cocktails inspired by Baz Luhrmann and the start of the new season, like the 'Iona Martini,' 'Sunrise and Tonic,' and 'Petal Collins.'
The Saw This, Made This Installation pop-up is open to New Yorkers today, May 11th, and tomorrow, May 12th, from 4-8 pm, as well as on Saturday, May 13th from 11 am to 3 pm. Visitors can expect exclusive live painting sessions by Ai-Da, a mix of human and AI-generated fine art, and craft cocktails inspired by the gallery.
A highlight of the launch party was a panel discussion between Baz Luhrmann and Ai-Da, moderated by Tim Marlow, CEO of the Design Museum. The conversation featured Luhrmann's signature charm as he interacted with Ai-Da, and Ai-Da showcased her poetic prowess in response to questions about AI and emotions. Overall, the Saw This, Made This Installation proved to be an unforgettable evening for New York's elite, blending the worlds of art, technology, and cocktails for an exclusive experience.
