Manhattan’s Museum of Arts and Design hosts Virtual Jewelry Trunk Shows on select dates via Zoom. Jewelry enthusiasts and fashionistas will get a behind-the-scenes look at what artists are working on now; learn about their craftsmanship, processes and inspirations; and – best of all –can shop the pieces they love. The designers will send them right to you, with proceeds directly benefiting the artists and the museum’s educational programming.
On July 16, at 3 pm, RE:FINE – our unique display of fine jewelry – will feature Tony Malmed and Todd Pownell, with Curator and Host Franci Sagar.
Tony Malmed Jewelry is designed and made by hand in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Each piece is one of a kind and crafted from rare, precious, ethically mined gems of the highest possible quality, set in repurposed gold and silver. The proportions, the textures, and the play of colors in his pieces draw from the beauty and mystique of places like India, Italy, and Japan—and from the understanding that truth is beauty and beauty is truth.
“TAP by Todd Pownell” evolved from the varied combined experiences of it’s founders, Todd & Debra. Todd is a technically trained goldsmith and graduate gemologist with fine jewelry historical knowledge.
