Brazil’s Independence Day (Sept. 7th), a date that has brough upwards of 1 million people to the streets of New York City, will soon come alive at Berimbau Brazilian Table 36th St. Kicking off with a night of authentic Afro-Brazilian sounds follows a week’s worth of exclusive specials that bring back beloved dishes and new creations.
On Friday, September 4th, Berimbau’s listening room & private event space, Second Floor, welcomes seasoned composer, percussionist, and producer Marivaldo dos Santos (STOMP, Lauryn Hill, Gilberto Gill) and his acclaimed band for an evening of Afro-Brazilian rhythms layered with jazz hip-hop, and electronic. Guests can complete their night with small plates from the Second Floor’s curated menu and a cool passionfruit Caipirinha.
Doors open on September 4th at 6 pm, with the first set at 7:30 pm and the second at 9:30 pm. Tickets start at $23.18/person and can be purchased via EventBrite.
