Tom Yum Week is New York City’s first-ever citywide celebration of Thai food, art, and culture, running September 16–30. Across seventeen participating restaurants, 36 artists and creatives are collaborating with chefs to turn each spot into a temporary creative space — think digital art, augmented reality, sound installations, and interactive experiences built around Thai cooking and heritage.
Each restaurant’s experience is unique, with special menus, dishes, and collaborations at Charoen Krung, Dock Asian Eatery, Gigi Curry and Noodle Bar, Godunk Thai Street Food, Kati Thai Cuisine, KRU, Lalyn, Lucky Bar, Narkara, Saolea, Sala Thai, Samyan, SEA, SkyIce, Thai Pavilion, Valla Table, and Zabb PuTawn.
The inaugural festival’s theme, “YUM YUM YUM,” nods to yam (ยำ), the Thai practice of mixing and tossing flavors together — reflecting how the week brings restaurants, artists, and audiences together into something new.
