Tribeca Film Presents 'Cookie, Love' Popup at Win Son Bakery

Event Description: To celebrate the world premiere of Cookie, Love at the Tribeca Film Festival, Paris-based baker Jean Hwang Carrant is bringing the very cookies featured in the documentary to New York for a limited pop-up at Win Son Bakery in the East Village on June 9 and 10, from 11am till sold out. Directed by Sari Arambulo, Cookie, Love follows Taiwanese-American baker Jean Hwang Carrant, a Kansas native who fell in love with a Frenchman and built a beloved cookie shop in Paris. Part love story, part American-in-Paris portrait, the short documentary explores identity, authenticity, multiculturalism, and the pursuit of home through the lens of food. The pop-up offers festivalgoers and food lovers the rare opportunity to taste the cookies at the center of the film while meeting Jean, director Sari Arambulo, and executive producer Jeremy Jacobowitz between screenings.

Taking place at Win Son Bakery, the pop-up serves as a nod to Jean's Taiwanese-American roots and the cultural influences that define both her life and her baking. Guests can enjoy three signature cookies from her Paris shop: the Black Sesame, her bestselling cookie made with black sesame powder from Taiwan and topped with black and white sesame seeds; the Hoji-chan, featuring Kettl's Matcha Chocolate with buckwheat crunch alongside Fuuka Houjicha powder folded into the dough for a warm, nutty, toasty depth; and the Gwenola, a sweet-and-salty caramel chocolate cookie finished with Camargue sea salt from France. The cookies pair naturally with Win Son Bakery lattes and teas, including the Black Sesame Latte and Xiao Guai Guai Latte.

Where to Book: No tickets required for the pop-up — open to the public.
