watch the unveiling of a banner at New York-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center (180 Fort Washington Avenue, New York, NY), tomorrow, Wednesday, May 20th from 12:00 - 1:00 PM.
The banner (image below) is part of a local art program, Give A Sign, which taps independent artists to design affirmational artwork to cheer on essential workers.
The artwork will be installed near the main entrance at the center of the campus, on the ‘steps of grass’ and will serve as a small token of gratitude for hospital workers for their ongoing efforts to keep New Yorkers safe and healthy amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. The banner was designed by artist Karan Singh.
This sign is one of many that has been installed around the city over the last few weeks. Other locations include: Sloan Kettering, Maimonides Medical Center, Mount Sinai, and NYU Langone Hospital. For each sign designed, the team also delivers 200-300 smaller scale prints to the hospital so healthcare workers can bring the positivity home.
